This course is typically offered in Fall and Spring. Students will be introduced to the field of computing, including potential career opportunities, the Computer & Information Sciences department and its resources, the departmental faculty, and the Computer Science degree programs, as well as the opportunities for internships and research. There will be guest lectures by Computer & Information Sciences faculty, students and alumni, demonstrations of computing technology, and discussions to illustrate the interdisciplinary nature of Computer Science and Information Science and Technology. NOTE: This is a required course for all Computer Science and Information Science and Technology majors. It is also recommended for undecided students looking for a major.
