Topical Section Description: We live in an age of migration, and the nations and peoples of Asia have become central actors on this stage. By examining major trends, explanatory theories and issues regarding international population movements in the modern world, the class will acquire some of the key conceptual skills and bibliographical tools for researching related developments in East and Southeast Asia. In consultation with the instructor, each student will write a series of short papers and develop a research design that will lead to a well-formatted and documented research paper.
