Notes: Permission of major coordinator required. Topical Section Description: How does our cultural background influence our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors? How do psychologists attempt to study human behavior in a global contest? To answer these questions we will examine the definitions and research methods in studying culture by psychologists. We will consider the role of relativism, universalism, and ethnocentrism as we explore indigenous psychologies. To do this we will focus on key studies, theories, and controversies to better understand cross-cultural and cultural psychology today.
